8 Rules for Choosing a Domain Name

By Kurt Kramer  |   Submitted On May 30, 2016

I need a website built, but where do I start?

First things first, you need somewhere to put the website - this means a domain name, or URL. This is a very important step in getting your online presence off to a running start, one that is too often thought of as a simple step that you can easily 'wing' and just purchase something that will kind of do the job for cheap. After all, it's only a place to put my website, right?

Wrong. Would you buy a top of the line, brand new, fully loaded Cadillac from an online dealership called SlappyDoosWhippinRides.com? Okay, so there might be a couple oddballs out there, but my point is, it sounds like a carnival ride and the vast majority of Cadillac purchasers probably won't be shopping there. You need something that conveys your business with style that is straight to the point and easy to remember, like TheCadillacShop.com.

Take a little time and put some thought into your domain name. Don't be a Slappy Doo!

1) Align with your business

This should be fairly obvious, but it still needs to be said. If you already have a business name, such as Book Builders Inc., your domain name should be bookbuilders.com or bookbuildersinc.com. This makes it easy for your customers to remember your name and also your website.

2) Make it easy

People gravitate toward convenience. It's just the way people are. If your website is difficult to spell or type - avoid using slang words or shortening words like 'you' into 'u'. This may make it more difficult for people to find you.

3) Short and simple

This goes right along with the previous step. The longer the domain name, the more people have to work to type in your domain. If it is more than three words - over 20 characters - users may feel exhausted having to type so much (I know, it's ridiculous, but it's true). There is a problem here that you may not be able to avoid - most of the 2-3 word domain names are already taken. This is where the next few steps come in handy to tailor your domain.

4) Use keywords (maybe)

This has been a common practice for a long time in choosing a domain name, but doesn't hold as much power in regards to SEO as it once did. Since Google's search engine updates from 2010 on, this has become less and less of a top consideration. Since Google is the powerhouse in Search, you may want to pay attention to what their objectives are - mainly that they're moving toward ranking websites with relevant content and actual usefulness to web surfers. This means: your content matters more than your domain name.

NOTE: Use one if it fits with your business and looks good. Otherwise, don't try too hard here.

5) Target locally

Example: If your business is called 'Car Detailing', and you detail cars in Denver, Colorado, chances are [http://www.cardetailing.com] is taken. Even so, you most likely only deal with local car drivers. This is a case where you would want to include your city in the domain name and choose [http://www.denvercardetailing.com]. This will help with local SEO and make it easier for customers in your area to find you.

6) Avoid hyphens and numbers if possible

This is a common mistake that can hinder searches for your website - it isn't common knowledge to try a hyphen in a domain name and you may confuse people if your name is hyphenated, but there is another website that is not. Check out the two websites below and you'll see exactly how this can go wrong.

Michigansportsman.com
Michigan-sportsman.com

Conversely, if michigansportsman.com is taken and you feel michigan-sportsman.com would still suit your needs, then make the purchase. Otherwise, try modifying the name a bit to still align with your business while avoiding the hyphen.

7) Make it memorable

This is probably the most important. Just like picking a business name that lets people remember you, picking a domain that sticks in people's minds is imperative. Unless you only use your website as a point of reference and your actual business goes by word of mouth (actually happens a lot), then it isn't as important.

8) Don't purchase 'later'

If you find a domain that you like and it is available DO NOT WAIT! There are domain poachers who actually wait for people to search for a domain and if it isn't purchased right away, they'll buy it and try to sell it to you for a lot more money than you're probably willing to pay.

How To Make Banner Ads Attractive And Realize Online Marketing Goals?

By Yusuf Javed  |   Submitted On May 12, 2016

We are now in the digital world where technology shapes the way we live. Brands are not immune to changes brought forward by constant advancements in the technology. Take for instance, the norms of marketing have completely changed with digital taking precedence over traditional. From mobile to social to e-mail to content, the routes of marketing have evolved and entered an altogether different territory. With more people going online and socializing than they ever did, it's now the turn of brands to head where all the prospects lie. They have to advertise and tap into the ever-exploding potential of the internet world.

In a way, brands have to leverage different techniques and methods of advertising to catch the attention of their target audience, including existing customers and prospective ones. To catch attention, effective marketing campaigns and attractive ads will be needed as they stir imagination and demand some sort of attention. Banner ads have to aesthetically impeccable as only they can they make the heads roll. In a way, your banner ads have to stand out from the sea of campaigns unfurled by other marketers. For that to happen, you need to have a team of creative and experienced graphic designers with, of course, proven credentials.

What if your small business can't afford any investment in hiring designers? What should be the strategy when the budget is relatively too small to hire creative people? In such scenario, the only option is to design banners ads by own or explore the market to find any advanced tool for the same purpose. It'd be great if you could find a tool as in that case, a lot of time and money would be saved that otherwise get spent on manual efforts. Finding such a tool, and an advanced one at that, means getting the freedom of designing your own banner ads.

What's more, having a tool will also give the benefit of creating multiple designs at one go and then choosing the one that suits the marketing requirements in the best possible way. With the tool doing all what is needed, a business then won't need to hire a designer to produce several mock-ups of the banner design. Given so many benefits attached with the tool, it'd really be a great decision to get that one and let the business benefit, at least on the banner designing front. Options are many in the market and you should choose a tool that delivers speed and responsiveness.

In addition, a business should always select a tool that provides multi-browser support feature. The tool won't serve the purpose beyond a point if it is not compatible with device such as smartphones, tablets, and desktops. It should enable adding of text, arches effects; should help upload images, rotate texts & images; facilitate adding of shape & clip-art and changing of background. What's more, the chosen banner designing software or tool should come packed with a huge selection of themes and templates to bring more ideas and more creativity into play.

Yusuf Javed is the proud founder and director of Product Designer Tool - an innovative company that provides personalized and customized banner designing software to clients. A tri-national (citizen of the US, UK & India) and tri-lingual management executive with decade-long experience in Digital Marketing, he has vast experience in building teams, strategic planning and direct sales.

Some Helpful Tips for Effective eBay Selling

By Waqar Hasan  |   Submitted On May 18, 2016

Selling on eBay is an excellent way for you to sell off any unwanted items that are simply gathering dust in your home because you don't use them anymore. This allows you to make some money and you can even set up your online business here. If you possess a craft, but don't have the funds to start a full-fledged business, eBay can help you in establishing yourself and earning an income. However, in order to succeed as an eBay seller, there are some tips you need and guidelines that should be followed to avoid any pitfalls.

Some tips for effective eBay selling are outlined below:

Use eBay for the right reasons

The first step for maximizing your profits is to ensure that eBay is the right place to sell your products. This means that whatever you are selling should be easy to ship, convenient to sell online and should also be popular. This allows you to attract customers and make your sales. In addition, if the item is rare, then again you will be able to draw the attention of potential buyers.

Select your words wisely

When you have to list items on eBay, you should be careful in selecting the right keywords and wording the product in a good way. The title should be concise, but should use as many descriptive words as possible so the item will be visible in more and more searches. Also, if you are descriptive, you will have to deal with lesser questions from possible buyers.

Be straightforward and honest

Lots of sellers' claim that being honest and straightforward means that they may have lesser sales, but the fact is that this allows you to build a good reputation. If you want to sell on eBay for the long-term, a good reputation in the eBay community can go a long way in generating positive feedback, which leads to even more sales in the future.

Use good pictures

Quality of images is a lot more important than their quantity. Photos can be an excellent tool for sales, but you don't need more than three to four of one product. You should ensure that the item is well-represented by the pictures and shows the product from all angles and sides. The pictures should be clear rather than blurry.

Select the right price

Selecting the right price for your product is actually an art. Bear in mind that if your product on eBay is more expensive than other markets or even other sellers on eBay, you are less likely to make sales. If the item is popular, start with a low price and let the demand drive up the price itself.

Be upfront about your policies

You should inform potential customers about your policies before making a sale. They should know if you offer eBay tracking, shipping charges, return policies etc. so there are no nasty surprises in store for them. This will enable you to satisfy your customers in a better way and lead to repeat business.

With eBay selling having become a popular internet business, a lot apps have been introduced by companies that help with sales on eBay. HomaVo is one such app that offers eBay Tracking and Audit solution to eBay sellers and Buyers. HomaVo feedback engine allows to send feedback automatically and let's you track eBay packages automatically. For more details, log on to Homavo.com.

Should We Level the Playing Field for Small Business Spammers?

By Lance Winslow  |   Submitted On September 16, 2015

Nobody likes e-mail SPAM except the spammers who hope to convert .01 % into sales. Unfortunately, the cost to send out an email is very low and thus any ratio is decent even in some cases .001% and that's the problem. Okay so, let's talk shall we?

Much of the nonsensical SPAM we get comes from smaller operators who do not have the convenience of Artificial Intelligent software or high-probability algorithms. How do we know this is a fact? Simple, if you are a woman and you get Viagra or Anti-Baldness SPAM or if you are a man and get breast enlargement or Sports Bra SPAM. These smaller companies use scrapers and buy old email lists with little regard to your buying habits. Larger companies use targeted SPAM which to us often doesn't seem like SPAM because we are actually interested.

What if the smaller companies that sent out SPAM had better access to targeted algorithms to help them find the best customers? Then they'd use that software and we'd eliminate a good chunk of all SPAM and thus, save bandwidth for all and clear out most of our junk email boxes.

After all, if your salesy emails are apropos to your needs, wants, desires and purchasing choices then all of a sudden it doesn't seem like SPAM anymore does it? Now then, a company that is only getting.001% conversion rates on a mass e-mail campaign probably doesn't have enough money to use Big Data or get a sophisticated computer nerd to write them the ultimate Spamming Algorithm.

So, what if someone licensed these tools to the littlest of home-based businesses, and if they abuse them, they can no longer use them? You see, we need a real world solution and we need to rethink the problem, because we still have a challenge with spamming and even though there are laws against it, enforcing those laws is nearly impossible. Bill Gates had suggested long ago that "micro-payments" for emails sent would solve the problem, because even if the cost was low per e-mail sent, operators couldn't afford to randomly send the SPAM, instead they've have to be selective.

Being selective means, having a decent e-mail list and checking it twice, updating it, and making sure anything sent was properly targeted otherwise you'd go broke trying to send out mass e-mails. My solution above also has a free-market cost-benefit theme to it. Maybe it is a nice business model for Big Data to capture new small business clients in bulk and if so, that could eliminate 50% of the SPAM. Think on this.

Where to Share Your Quality Content

By Dylis Guyan  |   Submitted On September 24, 2015

There is no doubt that if you can create quality content you want to get it out there and eyeballed by as many people as possible - even better if the owners of those eyeballs are likely to be your target market.

Not only can you increase visits to your website and hence increase conversions, but you can enhance loyalty to your products and services, validate your industry position and boost brand awareness.

So where are the best places to put your stuff?

As with all marketing you need to know your demographic and relate that to the kind of content you are creating. Certain sites on the net are going to attract specific users - your first task is to determine where your likely buyers are hanging out.

... and you are not going to be short of choices, let's take a look:

Social sites

Social media has transformed the way we communicate, access information, buy and sell and waste our time. Each social media site has a slightly different angle and therefore attracts either a unique type of user or is used for specific purposes. Sites such as Facebook and Twitter can be great for your business page and ads but largely they have a social slant. So remember this when posting. This is not really the place for describing your latest product and super offers. But an article which will be of interest to your industry with links to your site and services can be really effective.

The eyes have it

The internet now is a very visual place to be. We all love videos and graphics and according to a recent survey by Ipsos OTX pictures are the most likely type of content to be shared. So make sure your articles either have graphics or videos to hold that dwindling attention span on a Monday morning. Top sites to share pictures are Instagram, Flickr and Pinterest.

The professional angle

When that article needs to be consumed by a professional audience you need to be thinking LinkedIn or even Google+. The former also has great group sections which focus on any subject, industry or niche topic you like. This ensures your article is likely to be read by your target market who are interested in niche subjects.

Here is the news

Who better to share your content with than current buyers or people who have subscribed to your online services? Through emails or frequent newsletters you can keep your loyal audience updated with articles which will specifically interest them and instigate further sales and brand awareness.

Share and link at the same time

The most effective way to gain links for your website is through guest blogs or business articles. If you liaise with the webmaster of another website (within the same industry but not a competitor) he/she may welcome an article on his/her site. As well as creating extra shared content you are also creating what could be a very powerful link.

Specialised content

There are also some great sites set up for all your specialist content. Why not use that recent training presentation on PowerPoint as a marketing tool? SlideShare is very popular and set up to meet this eventuality. Are you a bit of a designer at heart? Infographics are really big at the moment and can turn boring dull info into a cool event, Visual.ly could be the site you are looking for.

Article sites

There are many article sites that will allow you to submit your high quality articles, which will give you more exposure, more credibility and more traffic back to your website. Some are more strict than others so make sure you read their "article submission rules".

One of the rules is, no direct selling, however... you are able to add your personal bio where you can include a FREE give away.

You can see an example of mine in the resource box below.

Google news

Google news feeds will reach an international audience. Readers can filter feeds exactly to the news topics they want to so they know they will receive news about their favourite topics. You can apply to get your articles on Google news here.

As I always say, get out there and "expose yourself" metaphorically speaking, of course!!

Google AdWords: Are PPC Ads Worth It?

Why Do I Need To Build A List?

By Tommy G Olsson  |   Submitted On June 13, 2016

Do you really need to build a list to make it within online marketing?

I would say that if you really are serious about making money online and if you really want to become successful, then you should build your list constantly. Why? Simply because when you get good at ad copy writing you can basically sell when ever you click the send button and emailing your subscribers. Believe it or not but this is true.

They are your potential buyers.

This fact is why all the very successful entrepreneurs are having a huge list of potential buyers.

Yes, these people on your list are all potential buyers, and to these people you can send your offers to and motivate them to buy what you are offering. However it is important to remember that you should not send a lot of links to a lot of different products, you should share value and create relationships with your subscribers, this to get them to know, like and trust you. As a result of this they might buy what you are selling in the future.

Leaving money on the table.

To not building a list is to in fact leaving money on the table. We all that are working as online marketers want to build our income online effectively and therefore you just have to build that list of yours. The bigger of a list you have the more are your possibilities to build an income through it. You can build you list through free marketing methods and paid marketing methods. Basically the paid advertising methods produces faster results then the free methods. There are, however, free methods that has proven to produce good results as well when it comes to building a list. However if you are focusing on only using free methods to build your list then understand that it will take quite some time.

One solution could be to use both free as well as paid marketing methods to build your list. You are able to send out emails to your list offering value how often you want to,but remember that you always should share quality content with your subscribers. This to avoid making your subscribers opt out from your newsletter. Do not worry about people who unsubscribes though, because some of your subscribers are not really interested in what you have to offer and there will always be people who opts out. It can actually be a positive thing that some of the people on your list decides to unsubscribe, because if they are not interested in the value you are sharing, then why have them on your list?

The Case Against Using An Autoresponder

By Tom Andrews  |   Submitted On June 16, 2016

I've had to put on my best armour today.

Why? Because I'm no doubt gonna get one hell of a backlash from certain people. After all, email marketers are supposed to love autoresponders.

Aren't they?

Well, hold your horses. Because I'm here to tell you why you should be sending daily emails (as daily broadcasts) as opposed to relying on an autoresponder sequence.

Ready? Let's get straight into it...

1) You can't be "current" with an autoresponder

One of the best things about daily email, is that you get to talk about current events.

And when you talk to your prospects about current things that are happening in the world, they're gonna pay attention.

Want an example? Okay then. When Leicester won the Premier League, it gave me something current to talk about. And it turned out to be one of the most profitable emails I've written. I reckon this was just because people could relate to it, as it had only just happened.

TV series' and films also make for great email fodder. Again, clearly you have to be current when talking about these.

But if you relied on an autoresponder, you couldn't exactly be "current", could you...

2) You risk "losing" a lot of people because of one email

Look, even I write a poor email once in a while (I know, shock horror, right?!).

But that doesn't matter. Because I can just make sales the next day with a better email. And that poor email would then be consigned to history.

But if that same email was in an autoresponder sequence, every single person who joined my list in the future would also receive it. Yes, I know you could take it out or change it. But that's making things harder than they need to be. Sending daily emails is just so less complicated.

3) Autoresponders don't tend to "pitch" in every single email

Look, I know you can easily make an autoresponder with a sales pitch in every email.

But the fact of the matter is, most autoresponders don't. Instead, they tend to tell a story that is told over the course of numerous emails, before then pitching a product/service.

Now, listen.

I'm sure this works.

There are certainly guys who do successfully use autoresponders. Andre Chaperon and John McIntyre spring to mind.

But I believe Ben Settle is the best email marketer in the world. And he does daily email. And, yes, he pitches every single day - without having to take anyone through a long-winded story sequence. Clearly, you're gonna make money faster doing it Ben's way. And I like fast. I'm sure you do, too.

Anyway, I'm not saying autoresponders are the devil.

Far from it.

In fact, they do have some advantages over daily broadcasts.

But you know what? For me personally, nothing has come even close to beating daily email when it comes to making sales.

And trust me, if you do it right, it'll be the same for you, too.

So to give you a massive helping hand, I'm giving you a FREE issue of my prestigious £99/month "Emails on Fire" newsletter.

How To Find A Profitable Niche For Affiliate Marketing

By Jon Allo  |   Submitted On June 16, 2016

Affiliate marketing is a great online business model where you sell products and services that have been created by other people. When you sell something, the product owner will pay you a commission. You don't have to worry about creating a product, sorting out payment systems or delivering the product.

Because affiliate marketing is so popular, there are products available for sale in just about every niche and industry you can think of. Even though you are virtually sure in your mind that you will be a success in a particular niche, is there some way to measure if your niche will be profitable? Here are five ways to find a profitable niche for affiliate marketing?

1. What's The Competition?

If there's too much competition it can be difficult to get a foothold in a popular niche. However, no competition is a bad sign too. To find a profitable niche, type the name of your niche into Google. If there are ads relevant to the search results it's a good sign. That means affiliates are making enough profit to spend money advertising to your market.

2. Look At Amazon

Amazon is the largest online retailer in the world and many people make money from their affiliate program. When you enter a prospective niche into the search engine at Amazon are there thousands of results, or fewer than a hundred? If the biggest retailing website doesn't show too many products for sale in your prospective niche, you should probably start looking for another niche.

3. Is It Seasonal Or Just A Trend?

Some affiliate products sell reliably at certain times every year. Think toys at Christmas or fancy dress at Halloween. Some markets are ready to skyrocket in popularity, while others might be ready to fall flat. Check your prospective affiliate niche in Google Trends. It can expose some valuable information about your niche.

4. Check The Affiliate Merchant Sites

Affiliate merchant sites like JVZoo, ClickBank and CJ.com are just a few of the places that you can find profitable affiliate niches. If you plan to sell digital information products, check that your market is healthy on these sites.

5. Consult Technorati

Technorati.com is a free blog aggregator. Use it to search your niche topic. If there are a good number of results, you probably have at a niche that is workable. if not, move on to another niche. The Technorati site has a number of filters you can apply to really drill down your results.

Regardless of your age, education or technical skills there are no specific requirements for being successful with affiliate marketing. However you will be more successful with a solid business model to work from, clear direction, training and support. If you don't know where to start or you're not achieving the online success that you want, check out the FREE Affiliate Marketing Business Video Series at http://www.jonallo.com/

A New Information Market

By Patrick Nest  |   Submitted On May 24, 2016

It is always great to buy something! Who doesn't appreciate this specific state of fulfillment, just after a closed deal? It's not so much the item itself that generates it, rather than the facet of ownership which pleasures us in some fascinating way. Unfortunately, in my particular case, that feeling used to be quickly overwritten by a state of devastating disappointment. There was always someone who felt the need to let me know that he or she found exactly the same thing to a better price. For that reason I learned to look the other way when I sense the chance to receive information which I really should have had the day before yesterday. This method allows me to balance my mood stages inside acceptable parameters.

Avoiding exposure to information may be a suitable technique for one or the other when it comes to arrangements circling around the private life. With regards to entrepreneurship, it really isn't. Being able to obtain relevant information, and to use it earlier than others, is key to success. Therefore it's one of the main challenges every startup and even established enterprises deal with every day. The conditions for this kind of race, however, are very different to an athletic competition. Some are always more privileged than others when it comes to receiving the right answers.

Throughout the years of analyzing small and large business development, I came to find out that running a successful company is rarely associated to great and innovative ideas, or exceptional drive for achievement. In most cases the path one chooses in life is mainly a consequence of circumstances which are heavily influenced by the given environment one finds himself encapsulated in. This transfers also into the professional world.

If you think of restaurants in large cities, - real restaurants, not franchise fast food places - you'd probably agree that certain establishments appear to exist since your childhood, while multiple others open and close, never to be heard of again. Admittedly this can be associated to a diversity of causes and effects. Nevertheless, if we leave out the variables and stick to constant conditions, one characteristic always stands out. That one apparently makes the difference. Successful gastronomes' usually maneuver inside a sophisticated network. They either constructed it over years themselves or simply took it over from a family member. This structure usually consist of: wholesales experts, suppliers, transport and logistics individuals... you name it. They spend a significant portion of their time communicating inside that network. Consequently they stay informed about what quality products are currently available to what price. How quickly they can get those, and what's the outlook for the next days or weeks with regards to the availability of transportation, personal, storage and so on.

If you came that far through the text, you may or may not remember what I initially suggested to be the 'key to success' factor for any entrepreneur. Correct! It's the ability 'to obtain relevant information, and to use it earlier than others'.

Now, while the little restaurant example is meant to illustrate the first part of the statement, let's focus on the second; -the using it earlier than others portion.

It shouldn't come to anyone's surprise that also here communication is the fundamental enabler. Once we identified what we can get, where, and from whom for the best price, it's essential to let those peers know that we want it. Right? After this has been achieved, the next step would be to advertise the availability of our products or services to a potential customer target group. The restaurant owner with his great network of friends is again in a very convenient position. He already knows who he is going to address. Hungry people in the area. He puts out a sign or two and lists his current offers in the menu. In general Startups are hardly as lucky. During launch or reinvention stages it's more frequently the case that businesses need to feel out to their main customer base. Even with a great concept in place, that's not easy. Often it actually takes more time than little companies can afford.

The internet helps with that. Search engines, social networks, open source market studies... , all of these things make it a bit easier. However, everybody who ever tried to come to the ground of specific information that would drive the revenue upwards, knows how hard it is to get a hold of such info. A Facebook friend doesn't always react as friendly anymore ones you start asking questions that relate to his or her internal business procedures. The LinkedIn CV expose of a product manager or engineer doesn't help you much further with most of your questions either.
To summarize it: Valuable information is tough to obtain, because it is not different from any other precious item. People don't want to give it away for free.

It appears as if currently available social networks don't address this just yet. We are missing a platform that allows to target specific information needs. Entrepreneurs want to build networks which allow them to either get valuable information or to provide it. The reliability of sources should be tracked by rankings or references. No one likes to be flooded with useless data. The most loyal business partner is that one who benefits from a relationship. We refer to it as mutual benefits realization. Both, the providing and the receiving party should realize whether they are the right individuals for a partnership quickly.

It is to be expected though, that there will be some kind of digital information market on the web. Just like any other marketplace, users will find what they are looking for, validate quality, discuss prices and eventually agree on a transaction method in order to finally close their deals.

Eventually there will be no need to look the other way anymore. No reason to be second or third in line.

http://www.Askwill.org is a simple but efficient way to address your needs. Become a member and help to contribute to a new information market.

How to Protect Your Business With Online Reputation Management?

By Prince N  |   Submitted On June 09, 2016

Before availing any services or products of a particular company, buyers often first check the reviews online and this is why negative reviews or results on the first page of the SERP can have a terrible impact on your business. It is true that even if you have an impeccable record of the past, the internet provides freedom to anyone who might easily damage the brand name. This of course would lead to losing potential clients and opportunities and is not something that should be left to chance. There are numerous ways that can help in online reputation management and limit the damage negative search results.

Marketing executives, many times fail to understand that poor ORM can damage the company's sales and that it is very important to control the negative effects on the company.

Let's discuss a few tips that can help you to manage the reputation of your brand.

Create your presence on all web properties: Your company should have Facebook, Twitter and Google+ accounts and some other additional social media sites so that you can have a strong web presence in this highly competitive market. For professional types of services, your employees and executives should integrate with LinkedIn. This will prevent others from tainting your brand name and will help you to control more spots in SERPs.

Protect individuals linked to your organization: Developing a strong social media presence for the CEOs, Founders, executives' names can help. Maintain a good profile, so that you are known in the market and this will help to protect your identity from getting defamed. People mostly search for reputed doctors, lawyers or professionals, so creating collaterals to rank for these individuals may help a lot.

Consider the products and services: Building your online material and social profile are very important for online reputation management. In case, if you have product names or specific services, then you may develop some informative content to rank for those names also. For this you have to develop web pages, collateral materials, and social media profiles and reserve each brand name.

Listen and apologize: If you find online complaints or bad reviews about your company, then take it seriously and address the issue without wasting any time. Listen to what the customers have to say and if your company really fails to offer the right service to the customer, then make a genuine apology to those affected. Remaining transparent and real can help you towards reconciliation and help the crisis situation to come to a close. Don't get into any online arguments.

Authorship: If you are an expert in any service, then publish informative and helpful content and use the author tag. This will help you to establish authorship and when people will find the information suitable and reliable, they will trust your brand and this will help to create a positive online reputation of your company.

Online reputation management helps you to easily remove the friction between the customers and your ability to offer products or services. Developing an ORM strategy ensures your potential customers that you are reliable and trustworthy.

To maintain a good and clean online reputation, it is very important for companies to follow an ORM strategy that can make your presence positive and stronger.

Is Your Website a Profit Generating Machine?

By Martyn B Lenthall  |   Submitted On June 16, 2016

Is your business website an active tool to bring custom and revenue in to your business? Is it the best sales tool your company has? Or was it something that was built because you thought you needed a website and infrequently thought about?

Never has there been a better time for online or "bricks and mortar" businesses to get more customers from the internet. Mobile phone and mobile device searches are higher than ever and search engines, like Google, are keen to promote local businesses in their search results. However, running a business in your field of expertise does not necessarily lend itself to being an expert in online marketing.

Your company website should be the best way for potential customers to find your services or products, choose you as the supplier and convert potential customers in to paying customers. Your website should be the best Salesperson in your organisation. Your website should be a "profit generating machine" for your organisation.

How to Make Your Website in to a Profit Generating Machine

There are 3 steps to ensuring your website generates revenue and profit.

Be Found

The structure and layout of your website should be such that search engines, like Google, can easily understand what products or services you are offering and in which geographical locations. This involves adding "behind the scenes" data that Google can read to fully understand the messages your website is trying to convey and which geographical locations you would like custom from. This information should be unique and relevant on EVERY page and image on your website.

Keeping your content "fresh" by adding news articles or blog posts will also benefit your website being found in the search results. If you care about your website and keep it relevant and interesting, Google will care more about your website. This activity is the start of "Search Engine Optimisation" or SEO.

To get your website found instantly you can invest budget in to Google AdWords. This is a "pay per click" service or PPC, where you only pay when a potential customer clicks on your advert and visits your website. The budget needed to be successful at PPC varies from industry to industry, but be warned unless you REALLY know what you are doing or using a professional PPC management service, simple mistakes can be costly.

Be Chosen

If your company is found in the search results or the paid adverts it should be structured in a way that will convert the customer. Each page of the website and each PPC advert should have text which directly relates to the search made.

If a search is made for "red shoes size 7 in Bristol" the page or product on your website should be structured to be found in the search engine results AND give reasons for the person to select your website.

For example, if a page on a Solicitors website is aimed at "Employment Law" and they would like customers from the Bristol area, the meta data (the two lines of text on the Google search results page) should say something like "Looking for employment law Solicitors in Bristol? Smith Solicitors offer a free initial consultation. Call today on 0117 123 456". Keyword and location specific, with an enticing reason to call. This approach will bring potential customers, ready to buy, to your website.

Convert

Once the potential customer has found your website for the relevant search, believe it or not, the hard work is done.

Converting the customer is as simple as adding wording or a video to the page that empathises with the problems they may be experiencing, offer the simple solution to solve the problem and why they should choose you to provide that solution.

An example for a plumber could be - do you have radiators that have cold spots, or rooms that never quite get warm enough? Having to wear a jumper in the house? Worried that your central heating is not functioning at its full potential or it not running economically? You likely have radiators that need 'bleeding' or your central heating system needs a 'power flush'. This is a simple task that can be done in an hour or so. Smith Plumbing can provide this service at an affordable rate. We do not charge a call out fee and offer a same day service.

The page confirms the issues the customer is experiencing or feeling, offers a simple solution that build trust and authority that you understand the issues, and provides genuine reasons why you are the company to call to resolve the issues.

Where the conversion rate of a website sky rockets is when 're-targeting' is used.

Regardless if the visitors to your website found what they were looking for on the first page they landed or they viewed multiple pages - on average only 2% of website visitors will interact with your business in making contact or visiting a store. 98% will leave your website and you have likely lost them as a potential customer.

Re-targeting is the process of advertising to the 98% that visited your website and didn't buy.

These are adverts on Google and Facebook that follow visitors to your website, around the internet as a constant reminder of your services or products. Highly cost effective and lucrative. If they have already bought from you - it re-enforces your authority. If they have not yet bought from you, it reminds them you are there when they are ready to buy. Have you ever been on the internet and thought "Wow, this company are advertising everywhere!" - they are not advertising everywhere, they are advertising to you wherever you go - they are re-targeting you. This is a tactic used by most large retailers in the UK including Marks & Spencer and John Lewis - it is equally effective for local businesses.

How to Choose a Digital Marketing Agency to Work With?

To ensure your website is a profit generating machine you need to work with the correct digital marketing agency.

They should offer SEO, PPC, re-targeting, video creation and social media management to ensure a consistent message across all solutions and to tie all of your online presence together.

They should only work with one company, in one industry, in one location - otherwise they are competing with themselves and you can only get one company to the top of Google!

Are you scared to start your Podcasting business and that you will possibly be a failure? You realize that tip-top results will be few and far when you start. There are all sorts of failures that you will have to put up with, also there is the fear and imposter syndrome, as well as all the mistakes you will make, listen to the wrong gurus, take a completely wrong roadmap to where you want to go to.

When Tiger Woods started his golf career, he did not hit birdies every time he touched his number 7. He needed to practice again and again and each time he went onto a golf course he was a little better than the previous time, until one day he started winning competitions.

You have to realize the top-notch position is out of reach when you start. That certainly is not a pleasant feeling, it is like you start your attempt to podcasting to fail. The only way to get on top is to do "that thing you are passionate about", embrace it and do it over and over again, knowing that the failure syndrome and imposter syndrome will talk to you in your mind all day long. Don't get discouraged when there is a big failure. Close your eyes, think what went wrong and how you can improve it, and start again. The next time it will be much easier.

Remember, Podcasting is difficult to do, otherwise everybody would do it. Pinpoint your fears and what holds you back. Look into yourself and hear the voice of your passion. You know that you are fully aware that you are passionate about Podcasting, however, when you start you will be bad, but you know if you do not start you will always wonder "what if".

Look into yourself to see what it is that holds you back, then find that passion you have and really commit it to survive at the beginning. There is no silver bullet and there is no magic wizard that is going to get you from the start to the end.

One approach to fulfill your milestone is to get busy in there and start doing it. You cannot avoid fear and failure because it is part of the journey of where your goal is. Be positive on your journey. Once you start succeeding, it will be a totally different journey. Learn as much as you can with all your mistakes, failures and disappointments, however, the secret is to start and to keep going. When you get to your first milestone, celebrate and have a nice party, you will deserve it.

Understanding Link Building and Why You Need Them As Part of Your Online Marketing Campaign

By John Trace  |   Submitted On June 04, 2016

Link building is such an important element of your online marketing campaign and yet many companies are not taking advantage of this marketing opportunity, which means that they are being passed over by the top search engines and finding themselves dropping in the rankings each and every month.

In most instances a company will turn to a SEO specialist when they don't understand why they have been knocked off the first page. Even some of the most famous brands in the world find themselves being pushed back to the third, fourth, fifth search pages, which means that they are long their ranking and reputation and need to work on ways to improve it.

Links are essential to make top search engines, such as Google, notice your website. Links are lined to external websites that direct back to your website. This is what search engines use to help them rank you in search results. The search engines, especially Google, use this as a form of sorting method to help them identify your ranking and help you improve all the time.

The aim of link building is to drive traffic to your website. In fact anything you do online is to drive traffic to your website, the more visitors you have the higher your success rate will be. You can take advantage of affordable link building services from a top internet marketing company, though there are some things you should know about the process so you can choose the right company that will provide you with the best results.

You need to have a good understanding on why you need link building as part of your online marketing campaign and in addition to driving traffic to your website, it also helps improve brand awareness. As with any marketing initiative you want to boost your brand visibility. The more your brand is visible the more customers you will reach. In order to succeed online you want to reach beyond your audience to ensure that you are the first name on their lips when there is products or services they need that your company can provide.

It is very important that you are aware that not all affordable link building services are good. There are things such as good and bad links and you often find that bad links will be generated by automatic services. Automatic services are often the cheapest, but they can result in you finding yourself with a bad online reputation in the long run. These are automatically generated links which may not be from a reputable source or may not even work.

You want to ensure you choose an affordable link building service from an internet marketing company that will guarantee that they will do manual link building services for you. This means that they will do the research and analysis, they will identify reputable websites and then manually do the links so that you are seen in the best light online at all times.

Any affordable link building services you choose should be provided by an experienced company who are willing to answer all your questions quickly and honestly, so you can ensure that they are the right match for your company moving forward. They should have some knowledge of your industry and work as your business partner to ensure you achieve results now and in the future.

Any company you choose to work with should provide you with monthly detailed reports, so you can see the results for yourself.

How To Stay Motivated While Article Publishing For Your Small Business

By Sohaib Azam, Esq  |   Submitted On June 11, 2016

It is a lot of work putting an online business together as you have to constantly make calls, find ways to improve your website, and educate yourself on how to improve your business skills. If you are writing articles, it can also be a major challenge to stay on track writing articles weeks after week. The purpose of this article is to highlight some ways in which you can stay motivated so that you don't fall behind in terms of writing.

#1: Always Reward Yourself For Reaching A Certain Number Of Articles Or Views And Pace Yourself Accordingly

Goals are always a good thing to have. They help keep you motivated because you feel that much better when you finally reach your goal. It is always good to reach a certain milestone because it gives you a chance to look back at all that you have accomplished up to that point. You should definitely reward yourself when you reach a specified number of articles or views so you can look back and reflect on all that you have accomplished up to that point. Always give yourself a chance to reflect on what you have done because it will give you motivation to do more.

It's always important to pace yourself whenever you have goals that you want to accomplish. Remember that it is better to write a few articles each week than to write them all in one setting. It is also advisable to take time during the week to think about what you will write and what you would like to communicate to your readers. This will help the writing process go smoothly.

#2: Always Keep Track Of How Your Writing Is Helping Your Business And Look At The Big Picture

Remember that building an online business takes time and dedication. It will not happen with one article, even if it is a really important article. It takes a combination of articles and people reading them in order to see results. Nonetheless, every article that you write will bring some kind of result to your business whether it is more people reading your articles or more people clicking on the link you provide them in order to see your website. If you are using Twitter for your website and have linked it to your Ezine account, one of your articles may be retweeted to another person or you may start to get more followers for your account.

The important thing to remember is that each article is making some kind of impact which will eventually lead to your business prospering. It is important to step back and think about where you started out, back when your website did not have any views and you may have had no followers on Twitter and compare that to where you are today. Remember that your patience and perseverance will always pay off.

NEW: Discover a Proven Way to Sell 4275% MORE eBooks in 72 Hours or Less (100% FREE)

By Ian Ross Hollander  |   Submitted On June 07, 2016

Are you an author, artist, internet marketer or aspiring entrepreneur who would LOVE to build buzz for your brand? Do you have great ideas, but a very small audience of people paying attention? Are you sick and tired of following internet marketing gurus, or trying "gimmicks" that are doomed to disappoint? I want to share with you a very simple, evergreen content marketing strategy that can literally transform your brand, blog, business and bank account... and make it happen in under a week as well.

Curious but not yet convinced? Continue reading as we take a closer look below.

A quick case study

In early May, we did a quick case study experiment for an aspiring author who wanted to sell more client consultations, and hoped to use her Amazon books to build "buzz" for her brand, and business. She is a spiritual "teacher" and author in the "psychic" development space. (an area and expertise where I am personally agnostic)

Believe it or not, her first book was selling fairly well, and was making anywhere from 5-10 sales per day at 2.99 per book.

But, her primary goal, which was failing in a big way, was to leverage these books into sales of her "off Amazon" content, like coaching, courses she has created, and so forth.

Her hope was to use her books to drive a constant stream of new traffic to one specific course she had recently created, and was informally promoting in the book covered in the case study.

Here is what we did, and here are the results.

On May 1, she sold 8 books at 2.99. Her profit on these sales, was roughly 16. (70% of each sale)

A few days before the first of May, we started submitting her book to many other publishing platforms, and pricing the book at "0". (free)

We then notified Amazon that we found her book on other platforms for free, which sets off their "price match guarantee" program.

On the morning of May 2nd, the book was now free on Amazon as well. (which made her VERY nervous... as she was liking that $$15-20 a day income stream for self esteem!)

By the end of the day, her FREE book was downloaded 169 times.

On May 3rd, the book was downloaded 351 times.

In 48 hours, she had gone a high of about 10 books a day, to averaging 250 downloads a day. Her book was now #1 in multiple categories on Amazon as well, in the free section.

Now, she was making no money from these "purchases" as it was a free transaction.

But, we made a few simple modifications to promotional material in the book, adding several big banner ads for promoting another free course she had elsewhere. This generated about 75 clicks to the sign up page for her free course, and generated somewhere around 40 or 50 new students.

Out of those students, just from those 2 days, about 12 have ended up purchasing a premium coaching program she teaches on a video based learning platform.

As I write this, a month later, the book continues to generate anywhere from 50, to 400 downloads a day. It continues to be a major source of free traffic, and it continues to convert strangers into subscribers, and subscribers into sales.

All 100% free. It will work the very SAME for you, no gimmicks, no gadgets, and no goofy gurus required!

Why Should Your Small Business Start a Blog?

Since blogging is not that simple, and search engines are policing all of your efforts, should a business maintain a section of blogs on their website? The answer is yes. Your site is more than likely to appear higher within the SERPs (search engine result pages) if you're maintaining a blog than if you do not. And these results are vital now that more individuals are turning to the Web to make purchases and obtain information.
Why is "appearing higher" within the search engine results critical? Consider how you consume information. Do you scroll through all search engine results you get as you conduct a search, or, do you select from the results on page one, with close attention to the results discovered at the top of that page?
If you remain at the top of page one of results, you are like 95% of Internet users out there. As a matter of fact, individuals typically joke that the ideal place to discover a dead body is on the second page of Google. Therefore, where is your blog located on the list of search results? Do you usually come in first place within the search results? Or 400th? It's referred to as page rank. The more traffic the blog generates, the more engaging the blog's content it is, the more shares and likes it'll receive, the higher you'll rank. And this means more individuals will locate your site; services, products, blog - everything!
How Often You Should Write Blogs
Do not stress yourself over it, just begin somewhere. One time per month is better than nothing at all. Once per week is better than once per month, and once per day is better than once per week. Do what you can. The more you create content, the easier it'll become - not to forget the increased quantity of leads you'll produce from doing so.
What to Write About
As you begin the blog, create content about your business. Create content about your customers. Create content about your products. Create content about your failures, successes, and lessons learned. Plus, if you dare, create content about some intriguing stories pertaining to how you decided to be an entrepreneur.
Personal stories of your business success, as well as how you did it, assist your brand in becoming relatable. That is crucial. In today's world of business, a small business is merely a couple of poor Yelps from oblivion. On the other hand, your business is a couple of fantastic reviews from success.
Outsourcing the Writing
You may have expert bloggers do the writing for you. You may pay them to write content which might appeal to your readers. This process will fall under content marketing.
How Many Blogs Should You Have?
The quality of the blogs greatly matters. However, size also matters. Within a perfect world, you should blog more frequently than the competition, and you should have more posts in your blog than the competition has. That way, the search engines see that your site is more robust and active than the competitions' websites. Also, more blogs mean there are that many more opportunities for your site to be found when individuals perform Internet searches.
