How to Do Manual Link Building

Recommend Article Article Comments Print Article
Expert Author Trevor Dumbleton
Manual link building is exactly what it sounds: you or your outsourcer find places to put a link back to your site then you go ahead and do it. Without using software to do the job for you - with the possible exception of letting software track down possible places for you to put a link back to your site.
Find places that are happy to accept your link
Some sites such as article directories are happy to accept your link so long as you provide them with quality content.
That means the content should be original - written by yourself or a trusted outsourcer - not rehashed rubbish.
It should also have reasonable quality grammar and, of course, be spell checked.
Different sites will have different standards but with things like articles it's best to choose sites that have an editorial process before your article gets published. This protects you, your readers and the site you're publishing on.
At this stage, you may be thinking that video sites like YouTube accept links but don't go through an editorial process.
That's kind-of true. Because the sheer volume of videos means that a manual approval system would need the internet equivalent of the infinite number of monkeys who would eventually type the complete works of Shakespeare. So computers and volunteers (the people watching the videos) do the process instead.
Social bookmark your links
In the modern world, it's apparently OK to brag about yourself.
You can send out Tweets, put up posts on Facebook and generally tell everyone how good you are.
Whether they believe you is another matter but Twitter, etc are happy for you to do this and Google will take note of this in its algorithms.
Of course, if your Tweet or post is noteworthy, other people will notice.
In the case of Twitter, they'll re-tweet it.
On Facebook, they'll like it or comment on it.
And, again, Google will take note of this. So will the sites you've originally used.
Which means it's worth taking the time to do this kind of manual link building properly.
Don't just click the social media button on a page and leave the auto-generated suggestion without amending it or turning it into your own words.
That's lazy!
And it's also not a good idea because anyone following you will know. Whether that's a real person or a computer stalking you.
Which, in turn, will reflect on the quality assigned to the link.
Put yourself in the clicker's shoes
Ask yourself a very simple question:
Would you be happy if you clicked on the link you're about to create?
If the answer is yes, that's great news.
If the answer is maybe or no or "no way!" then think again.
Manual link building is much more about quality than quantity.
So if the link you're providing doesn't give extra value to the person likely to be clicking it, why are you creating it in the first place?
When you start to answer that question honestly and create good links that are of value to people, two almost magical things will happen:
  • The search engines will assign more importance to those links.
  • The people who click your links will hang around on your pages for longer, start to trust you and start to spend more money with you
Which turns your manual link building from a chore into a profitable learning adventure!

How To Write A Good Online Newsletter

Recommend Article Article Comments Print Article
Expert Author Donna L Walsh
All internet marketers agree that in order to become successful, you must have a list of potential  that you can promote to over and over again. One of the easiest ways to grow and sustain a list is by publishing an online newsletter on a frequent basis.
Graphics and a good layout are important to the attractiveness of a newsletter. However, to appeal to and keep your subscribers, a newsletter must provide quality information in the niche that your readers are interested in.
In order to write a good newsletter, you must first define the niche your newsletter will be about. Since you can't be everything for ever body, you may want to narrow the niche. For example, instead of your niche being internet marketing which is extremely broad, narrow it down to something like website development. This is still a very large subject that gives you a lot of leeway so you will have plenty to write about. But by concentrating only on website development, it will be easier for you to become known as an expert in this niche instead of a jack of all trades.
Do not narrow your niche so much that you have trouble writing anything on the subject. Also remember that the real purpose of a newsletter is to grow a list of potential customers that you can promote products and/or services to. So you do not want to narrow the niche so much that there are very few products available that you can offer to your subscribers. While you will want to create products yourself, if the niche is too narrow, you will quickly run out of ideas for new products.
Once you have decided on your niche, you need to define your audience. Are you writing for newbies, those with some internet marketing experience, or advanced internet marketers? Of course, your audience will also depend on how well you know your subject. You can't write articles for advanced internet marketers unless you know your subject very well and can give them new insights. However, you can easily research and write articles meant for newbies and mid-level marketers.
Decide how often you want to publish your newsletter taking into account the amount of time it takes to research, write, layout and edit an issue. While publishing a newsletter every day sounds like a great idea, you will soon find out that you spend all of your time getting your newsletter ready for publication with no time left over for important things such as product creation and setting up sales campaigns.
Instead, publish your newsletter weekly, twice per week at the very most. However, you do not want to go longer than a week in between issues. Do not publish erratically or too infrequently. Doing so will alienate your readers who may forget that they even subscribed to your newsletter As a result, they may unsubscribe and possibly report your email as spam.
Decide on how you will layout your newsletter. You will want to include a greeting, your name, the name of your newsletter, and the issue number. For example:

Hi [FIRST NAME],

This is [YOUR NAME]. Welcome to the [ISSUE NUMBER] issue of [YOUR NEWSLETTER NAME].
You may then want to include a disclaimer such as this which reminds your subscriber that they did join your list:
You are receiving this message because you ordered one or more products and/or subscribed to one or more of our Newsletters and/or eCourses and agreed to receive emails from me through a double op*t-in procedure.
The email address {!email} was subscribed to receive this information on {!signdate long} at the following URL:
{!add_url}.
If you no longer wish to receive any communication from me, just click on the unsubscribe link at the end of this email.
PLEASE NOTE: The periods are included in known spam words. The tags are for the autoresponder used.
The next section might be an announcement/editorial section where you tell your subscribers about upcoming events, wish them a happy upcoming holiday, or tell them about anything interesting.
If you want to include a tips or product review article, place it here. This should be short, no more than 350 words.
Next would be your featured article.
If you want to include a secondary article, include that after your featured article.
Now say good bye. Include a notice that you will be sending them promotional emails. For example:

That wraps up another week's newsletter. I hope you enjoyed this issue. Don't forget to send me any comments or questions you may have. I would be only too happy to help you in any way that I can.
From time to time I'll send you important updates that will provide information that has the potential to greatly improve your online business... and of course your profits!
However, you can rest assured that I will only ever recommend products that are considered to be of HIGH value and will provide indisputably benefits to help you grow your business.
If there is a particular subject you would like me to write about, please send me an email and let me know!
I want to write articles that interest YOU. But I have no way of knowing what that is unless you tell me. So please take a couple of minutes and let me know what you want to learn about.

Have a great week
[YOUR NAME]
[YOUR WEBSITE(S)]
Then include something about recommending your newsletter to your reader's friends.

If you like [YOUR NEWSLETTER NAME] recommend us to your friends.
[URL TO YOUR SUBSCRIPTION FORM]
Lastly, include all your legal information.
If you use a first rate autoresponder, it will include required information at the end such as your physical address or PO Box and an unsubscribe link.
This layout will work for just about all newsletters. It is recommended that you use HTML for your newsletter so you can include graphics with your articles, a picture of you by your signature, etc. You will also be able to bold, highlight, and colorize important areas of your newsletter thereby making it more visually appealing.
PLEASE NOTE: Including a picture of yourself will help to build a rapport with your subscribers as they will see you as a real person, not just a name.
Before publishing your newsletter, be sure to proofread, edit and change anything that does not flow correctly.

Download eBooks - They're Updated With the Latest Info Before Regular Books Are

Recommend Article Article Comments Print Article
In the good old days, books had to go through various phases before they could be printed again. You had a manuscript phase, then proofreading, design, and furthermore you could end up with older editions that quickly became impossible to sell when new editions were printed.
This was not only time-consuming, but certainly also expensive in printing costs and all the other work related costs involved.
Nowadays, you can edit a PDF-document, and release a new version of your eBook within just hours compared with weeks or months in times past.
Similarly, the ability to deliver the eBooks right away have increased demand from readers for updated material, thus creating a spiral of need-to-know information, and then a wish from authors to deliver the best information so that reviews don't focus on outdated information.
Some publishers have gone through a big transition in this, because formerly there was an equality between printed editions and eBook versions. Now, the trend is moving in the direction of eBooks, and therefore focus has shifted over to keeping eBooks updated to get a bigger chunk of the sales involved in this field of publishing.
Furthermore, the environmental aspect is also furthering the perception that eBooks are more environmentally correct than printed books. Bits and bytes don't weigh anything, and you can carry eBooks on your iPad or your Amazon Kindle.
It is certainly a competition that requires that all authors are focused on changes, and ready to act as soon as laws change when writing political books or economic teaching materials. This has truly revolutionized the world of publishing in such a dramatic way that we can almost compare it with the change from written manuscripts to printing through Guthenberg. It is an amazing development, and we need to be grateful for the way in which technology moves our status quo.
So the only thing that keeps publishers from updating their printed versions seems to be the wish that they want their existing stocks to be sold before they print new versions. Once people move over to only buying eBooks that trend will change, because then written books would become something reserved for detective stories and celebratory versions of photo books and other timeless publications. But I must, in finalizing, remind everyone that the death of the printed book was declared several decades ago, but has never happened. People enjoy reading a book, and turning pages - and that is fine. The idea was never to kill the printed book, but to allow people to be more mobile with their libraries of books.

Free Music With Online Radio Stations

Recommend Article Article Comments Print Article
Expert Author Karina Popa
The Internet is a great tool, and during the last couple of years, it has allowed people to search for data and information in a simple and easy manner. People no longer have to depend on the newspapers to discover the latest news, or check the TV daily just to catch some entertaining shows. Now they have at their disposal various news (stocks, shopping, weather, sports, science, entertainment, politics, etc.) and they can check these out with just one click, whenever they want, and without paying anything.
Well, not exactly anything. One has to own a computer, a good Internet connection and the skills required to operate a computer connected to the Internet. OK, maybe "skills" it's a bit overrated. Let's say knowledge.
Among the additional results brought in by the Internet, we can mention the online entertainment or the free radio stations that can be found online. According to the name, these type of services do not charge anything, so they are free. Those who want to use this type of service can sign up on the website of the service and listen to the songs that they like. Lots of the sites that offer free radio stations offer plenty of free services in different languages, and with coverage all around the world. The listener only has to select the songs and the language. These will be transmitted to his or her PC and the party can begin. Or, you can listen to these songs using your speakers or headphones.
The users only have to take into account a few technical details, like downloading the software that makes the application work; this facilitates the connection between the PC and the radio station.
The features of this software include alerting the user on the latest offers, releases and newest songs. Lots of the radio stations service providers put their tools to the user's disposal, so that they can download them for free. In most of the situations, for lots of radio stations, people can also use a 3rd party software that has similar purposes. The only difference is that they come with a limited warranty and a price.
Bottom line: it is the decision of the user what player to use. However, those who want to benefit from technical support can use the player offered by the site of radio stations. Because it is strongly connected to their business, lots of providers of radio stations will make sure that they place the bugs as fast as possible (starting with the first complaint they receive).
Users might need a period of a couple of minutes of web surfing to find the best radio stations. Finding the right radio station can sometimes be hard, but if you have managed to do so, you can stop purchasing CDs. You will only listen to your tracks online!
